Hello & Updates!

Hello Everyone!  It has been a while since I've posted but I have taken much needed time for a break to spend time with God/family and time to reflect on the direction of my business and blog!  For a quick update, I have decided to move my blog/website to Wordpress and I'm excited for all the upcoming changes and growth.  With that being said, I will no longer be using blogger and I'm so thankful for all my followers and the blogger platform.  I'm working on migrating and please continue to follow me below.  Thanks again and look forward to the future!

A Time to Be Still .....Upcoming Changes!

Chamel's Creations:: BlogHello my lovely readers! I pray that you all are doing great this Wednesday. So I bet you are wondering what is going on? What happened to "2B2BS" hop?  What does she mean about being still?  Changes...what changes?  Those have been questions that I have been asking myself for the last several months.  To be honest with you all, when I first started blogging I was super excited about the world of blogging and how I could share all my thoughts, inspirations, encouragements, etc. However, I'm completely guilty of jumping in head first and taking on so much at one time and not truly reflecting on God's vision for my blog and his direction for my business.  I wanted to be like other bloggers and host hops/linkups, offer giveaways, sponsorship program, etc.  I found that I was becoming overwhelmed and not 100% sure if this was the direction I wanted or if I was just doing like everyone else. As I mentioned, for several months I have been contemplating over this matter and how to move forward.  This Wednesday, I'm encouraging myself to trust God and be obedient to his word.  Once again, God hit me in the face with his Word.  Proverbs 19:21 states:

"Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails."

So clearly God's word revealed that I can have all the plans and desires that I want, but it is God's ultimate plan that will stand.  With that being said, I realized that I need to get back to the basics and seek God's counsel first before I move forward with my plans.  His word reveals that if I trust him 100% and not lean on my own understanding that he will direct my path.  My sole heart's desire is to do his will and work!  Where do I go from here?  My goal and through God's directions are to use these next several weeks to be still and reflect on his word and receive his guidance.  I do know for sure that he wants me to use my business/blog platforms to encourage others and to spread his word.

I pray that if you are like me and in the need of God's direction for a particular matter/situation.....stop and BE STILL! (Psalm 46:10)  Reflect and ponder on Proverbs 19:21 and allow the Holy Spirit to direct you.  Always remember that our plans may give good results, but God's plans gives us His Best!  Please share and encourage others today as well!

Thanks in advance for being so supportive during this period of stillness. I'm excited and anticipating the future and all the great plans that God has in store! Looking forward to updating you all soon!

Sponsor Guest Post::Celebrating life and motherhood

My lovely sponsor, Steffany of Spit and Sparkles, was kind enough to share her story about overcoming ovarian cancer and her journey to motherhood.  It's truly amazing how God uses various life circumstances to reveal his love and power.  I pray that you are encouraged by Steffany's journey!
Family celebration lunch: 8 years ovarian cancer free.
Eight years ago on June 22, 2005, I was undergoing surgery to remove an ovarian tumor. A surgery that I wasn't sure I would walk away from and still be able to conceive children one day.  But God saved me, and the doctors only took one ovary. Today, I am celebrating life and the miracle of motherhood. Thankful, doesn't even describe how I feel. I feel incredibly blessed and humbled and in awe of God's greatness. Corbin and Lynley are beautiful gifts, and I will never forget what Derrick and I have gone through to get to this point in our lives. I cherish every moment that I get to spend with my little family, knowing that this may never have happened.

I was 19 years old, and I had just completed my first year of college when I was diagnosed with a mass on my right ovary. I was naive. I had no idea that what was wrong with me was cancer even though I was seeing one of the top gynecological oncologists in the world at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. I thought, there is no way this is cancer. But it was. Thankfully, I was aware of the early symptoms, and my mom encouraged me to continue pursuing treatment, even when I thought I was feeling better. I'm not sure that I have ever truly thanked her for her role in my diagnosis. I almost cancelled the appointment that led to the discovery of the tumor, but my mom made me go! She helped saved me. Thank you Mom.

The next few weeks after that appointment were a whirlwind. I remember meeting my doctor in Houston and her discussing that the tumor was the size of an orange. I would need to have surgery immediately, and was scheduled for less than a week later. I think my mom told me that the surgery lasted about six hours, maybe eight? Much of that time was spent on waiting for the lab to say yay or nay on the tumor being malignant. Just one week later, it had grown from the size of an orange, to the size of a grapefruit! My doctor was so sure that it was benign, that she actually started closing procedures, only to have the results come back positive. She then had to explore my lymph nodes, my abdominal cavity, etc. Thankfully, there was nothing to find! The tumor was confined to the right ovary, and that is all I lost. No radiation, no chemotherapy.

I am a survivor of Stage1A Ovarian Cancer, and early detection is what saved my life. Can you imagine how many lives could be saved, if there was more awareness about ovarian cancer? About 22,000 women in the United States are diagnosed with the disease each year. It is usually diagnosed in advanced stages, and only about half of women survive longer than five years. About 25% of ovarian cancers are found early. Those women have a 90% or greater chance of surviving longer than five years.

In 2009, I started an online awareness campaign about ovarian cancer. Please visit Feeling Teal to learn more about signs and symptoms and early detection methods. Ministry through Music::Overflow

How are you all doing this wonderful Sunday?  I pray that all is well!  Sometimes, do you feel overwhelmed with life's circumstances or just the non-stop day to day routine?  I feel overwhelmed a lot, but I try to step back and reflect on God's grace and mercy and how things could be much worse.  With that being said, I love to say the I'm "Overwhelmed with Overflow."  No matter what life throws at us, remember that God will supply our needs and He is more than enough.....I pray that Israel and New Breed's "Overflow" reminds us how far God has brought us and all that he has for us in the future!  Love you all!

Ministry through Music::Lord I Give You My Heart

I love Anthony Evans' music and each opportunity that I get to hear one of his songs I'm encouraged.  I enjoy listening to "Lord I Give You My Heart" because it reminds me that we all are on a daily journey to trust and allow God to be first in all we do.  To do so, we must invite him into our hearts and worship him with everything!  I pray that you will allow this song to open your heart and express your love and thankfulness to our glorious King.
{Lyrics}
Lord I Give You My Heart

This is my desire: to honor You.
Lord with all my heart I worship You.
All I have within me, I give You praise.
All that I adore is in You.
Lord I give You my heart,

I give You my soul, I live for You alone.
Every breath that I take,
Every moment I’m awake, Lord have Your way in me.

How Great Is Our God ñ by Chris Tomlin
The splendor of a King,
Clothed in majesty
Let all the earth rejoice,
All the earth rejoice
He wraps himself in light,
And darkness tries to hide
And trembles at his voice,
And trembles at his voice

How great is our God,
sing with me
How great is our God,
and all will see
How great, How great
Is our God

Age to age he stands
And time is in His Hands
Beginning and the End,
Beginning and the End
The Godhead, Three in one
Father, Spirit, Son
The Lion and the Lamb,
The Lion and the Lamb

How great is our God,
sing with me
How great is our God,
All will see
How great, How great Is our God

Name above all names
You are Worthy of all praise
and My heart will sing how great
Is our God (x2)
