ReplyDeleteLadies...try to enhance one or two of Week#1 projects in this week....you bless your husband abundantly...God will bless you abundantly!
ReplyDeleteHello ladies! I'm praying that all is well for each of you! I am taking Chamel's advice by choosing to incorporate projects 1 & 5 into this week! I have given my hubby 30 minutes of free time for the past 2 evenings & continued to send encouraging, loving text messages during the day! I'm grateful that habits appear to be forming & I'm enjoying the blessings! I look forward to sharing about the week via summary & can't wait to read about each of yours as well!
ReplyDeleteWay to go Tamera with incorporating projects 1/5 this week. Let's keep it up and look forward to summary update!
DeleteTamera-I love the fact you are forming habits. I found myself doing 3/4 projects in one day without even realizing it.
DeleteHi ladies! I pray that everyone is having a spectacular week so far! I decided to update everyone with my progress thus far!
ReplyDeleteI completed Project 8 - Location, Location, Location: If you guys recall, in a previous note, I stated that I'm not Betty Crocker. I promise if I could pay a chef to come and cook 3-4 times a week I would do it! lol. I do make sure he eats but it may be a turkey sandwich on wheat sometimes! lol. I'm doing better with being consistent and cooking 4 days a week. Today I came home and cooked grilled salmon over a bed of rice....he loves this dish. He didnt know I was cooking as he was upstairs in his theater room having alone time. I served him his entire meal while in his theater room and left so that he could enjoy his guy time alone with one of his favorite meals! He truly appreciated it and told me that the food was reallll y good!
Project 9: Aaron and I are very much into health and fitness. He's truly an athelete so loves various sports/workouts. We havent had time to workout together in a while due to work schedules. I decided to get with him so that we can workout together. We decided to start our P-90X workout together for the next 90 days. It has been really great to workout with my best friend encouraging one another along the way! I love to run so we plan to do some outdoor runs in the next few days as well! I know that this really made him happy as I came home today and he purchased additional workout equipment that we'll need while completing our P-90x workouts! :-)
Eb...love your feedback and the girl is in the kitchen! Get it! LOL Project 8 also incorporated project 1....given him his me time....way to go!
DeleteI'm excited that ya'll are working out together! Great motivation and couple time...working it out! I'm scared to start back working out with Marcus, he gets in beast mode and I try to keep up! He doesn't have anything on me with Zumba! :)'
Looking forward to your upcoming updates!
Way to go CHEF EB!!!!! What matters is you're putting forth effort and making it work. So proud of you! I need to jump on the health/fitness band wagon.
DeleteWhere my ladies at? How are you all doing this Fantastic Friday? Week #2 has been fun for me ....opening up with the BONUS....BOOOOOO YAAAAAHHHHH!
ReplyDelete[4.15.13]Project #13 was fun to let Marcus know that he was on my mind! I spent the day ensuring that he knew I love him and appreciated all of his hard work through text, emails, and flirty voice mail! He really enjoyed them! I pray for my hubby but to make and take extra time to do so was great! This is truly something I need to do all day...early and often!
[4.16.13]Tuesday, I enjoyed doing project #9 - working together, but we actually didn't work together! :) Marcus has been very busy and travel more with work this week and my plan was for us to work together in the yard before we left for MS. However, due to weather changes I decided that I was going to take care of the yard work for my man and allow him to come home and rest! I worked my butt off....I mowed the front and back yard, trimmed with the weed eater, picked up sticks, and swept the driveway clean! Whew! A sister was tired but I was pumped that I did it all and my man could come home and rest! He came home and told me he really wanted to do the yard work but was thankful that I did it because he was tired!
Even after working in the yard, I also implemented project #14 due to him working late Wednesday and our plans to travel to MS. I tried a new Campbell's skillet garlic and ginger marinade on chicken breast over rice with a side of green beans and rolls! I had fun preparing the meal and tasting while cooking! :) Marcus enjoyed the meal and especially me trying something new. (I'm a bit of a picky eater!) Brownie points for me! Ding! Hi-ho...hi-ho....working on bonus #2! :)'
[4.18.13]Thursday I made special with project #10 and dressed up cute for my hubby. He thought we were lounging around and I came out cute! We ended up going out and hanging out with the boys! Love his compliments and him not able to keep his hands off! LOL
More updates to come later today ladies...
Melly, you are ON IT! Look at those BONUSES! LOL You know Glen taught you about that yard work. Make sure your lines are straight and the weed eater has string. ;-) Just think you blessed your hubby and your body. I don't think it was too hard to complete projects while out of town. Do you? I just took care of most of the BONUS projects at home ;-)
DeleteLadies, I had to change it up this week. Hubby and I are out of town so I had to adjust projects this week. I was telling Chamel that on Monday, I had done 3 to 4 projects without evening knowing while including some from last week.
ReplyDelete(4.15.13) Project 11, 13, and BONUS
11: My hubby is an Air Force recruiter and is married to his phone as well ;-) So part of his job is calling applicants. I’ve done it in the past before, so I wanted to try it again. I called his applicants to see if they were interested, if so, I schedule appointments for them to speak with Thomas about their career as an officer in the Air Force. Ladies, this really brought joy to him. It was ALL over his face. This led to the BONUS project! Woot Woot.
13: THEN I went into my prayer closet later in the evening to really get in God’s face to pray for him in all areas. Then before bed I showed him the prayer requests that I had written down specifically for him. Another BONUS before lights out. ;-)
(4.16.13) Project 13, 14, & 18
13: Prayer closet again. ;-) I’ve decided to do Project 13 each day. I’m doing this anyway, but it’s getting very personal and coming to pass. Praise ya Jesus!
14 & 18: Cooked chicken spaghetti (scoot over Rachel Ray….there is a new chef in town…..lol), which is his favorite dish, AND we watch not one, but TWO action movies. Again, Thomas checked my temperature to ensure I was okay……LOL
(4.17.13) Project 8
Hubby was gone all day working in Hammond, LA so I decided to have dinner ready in the middle of the living room, set up like a romantic picnic (candles and wine). AFTER the picnic, I ran a nice hot bubble bath for him with MY favorite candles lit so he could relax. Ladies, he was falling asleep in the tub!!!!!!!!!!!! So after the bath, he went STRAIGHT to bed! LOL
(4.18.13) Project 10 & 12
Hubby was working in Baton Rouge ALL day today and STILL came home and did laundry. I had worked ALL night on shooting an event for NINE hours and I came home to a SUPER clean house. Coming home to this REALLY made me tear up. He is so considerate! I ensured this project was implemented. After I finished my shower, I went to him, looked in his eyes, and told him how much I appreciate him, his hard work, and having the house looking spotless with my favorite candles lit. Tonight definitely included a BONUS project. **Project 10: He didn’t see me before I left to photography my event. So I ensured I wore his favorite colors (brown is his favorite color), and dressed up as his trophy wife. YES, my feet were hurting BUT I wanted to bless my husband when I walked through the door.
For my bonus project this week, I found cute attire from TJ Maxx. I’m WINNING! LOL
So did any of you face any challenges this week? My only challenge was ensuring I get my projects done, most of them, while at home. For the remainder of the week I sent him love notes through text, I prayed and talked with him, and I’ve expressed to him how I truly feel about our love. Since I’m visiting with my parents AND staying at their house, I can’t get a BONUS project in, unless…….LOL. Let’s get started on week 3. Woot Woot!!!!! Look how fast two weeks has flown by.
Chantel....you've been racking up on the bonus rounds....look at ya! LOL I'm glad that you are allowing God to move! My challenge was the fact at being out of town at parents and having so much to do. Yet, I pressed and kept at it! Looking forward to week#3.
DeleteGirl I have so many bonus points....LOL I am really enjoying the priceless looks on his face.
DeleteI haven't posted my projects yet, but I did post this on my facebook page and was asked to share this with you ladies.... I pray that each of you take just a little something of this with you throughout this project and remember it through out the rest of your marriages. Don't let ANYONE tell you that you spend too much time with your husband!! After all..didn't you marry your best friend?! Love you all!
ReplyDeleteIs there a difference between spending all your time together and being married? The answer is yes. Once you tie the knot, the whole mechanics of the relationship changes. You are tied to one another, you have made a commitment, and you can't simply walk out when things don't go your way. You're in this for the long haul and that commitment makes all the difference. The degree of love and affection that you share will intensify immeasurably. You will find that there is potential in your relationship for the bonding of two souls within the security of marriage.
Maegan....love your post! I've received comments in the past about being with my hubby all the time! However, when you are in a GOD committed marriage, you WANT to be with your spouse. Many don't realize that because God isn't involoved, but we have to continue to pray for those and be examples! I pray that you had an awesome week #2 and look forward to your updates!
DeleteI appreciate you posting this. When I saw it on FaceBook, it truly blessed me. I am so glad you're apart of this!
DeleteI started the week off with Project #9. We use to work out together a lot when we were in college and now we don't get to because of our schedule. So this week I made an attempt to work out with him at least one day. This morning I asked him not to work out until I got home and he could not believe I asked him that. About a year ago he built our own gym so I have no excuse not to work out. When I got home I put dinner in the oven and went outside to workout with him. He was super excited and I have to say I really enjoyed doing something different. I think that he got too excited because he had me lifting weights like I was one of his football players. LOL.
ReplyDeleteJadice enjoyed workout together so much that when I got home on Tuesday he had wrote out an exercise plan for the both of us. LOL. I had decided to do Project #11 for today. One thing Jadice hates is getting in the shower and there is no soap in there, so I decided that after a hard workout I would run him a bubble bath and make sure that there was some soap in the tub for him. I put candles around the tub and closed and locked the door so he could take a bath in peace.
On Wednesday I decided to do Project #13. I always pray for my hubby, but today I especially prayed for his strength because I has been going through some rough patches these last few months. Throughout the day I sent him messages letting him know how much I love him and appreciate what he does for our family. This obviously worked because when I got home from work the mood in the house was totally different. He even decided to put dinner on. YEAH!!!!
To piggy back off of Wednesday I decided to do Project #12 to further build him up. I praised him for fully dedicating his life to God and making sure that our children have a solid foundation in God. He was so overwhelmed I thought that he was going to shed some tears.
On Friday I usually dress down for work, but today I thought that I would try something different with my hair, instead of the old trusted ponytail. When Jadice saw my hair he had to do a double take. He was so surprised that he could not stop talking about my hair, even after I got home from work. I told him how he is always saying I should do something different to my hair and it is safe to say that he felt good. It was a good feeling to know that he knew that I was listening to him.
Saturdays are usually reserved for family day, but Jadice wanted to go fishing so the girls and I decided to go to the grocery store and cook him a good meal for when he gets home (Project #14). I had been talking about chicken spaghetti so that is what we cooked for him. He ate so much all he could do is take a bath and go to bed. Mission accomplished.
This Sunday we did not have church and my daughters were down to my mother in law house so I decided to have us a little picnic in the living room. We sat down and talked for hours and need I say Bonus!!! We had a great time because we don’t get this much time alone.
Kris...you are on top of things and I'm so filled with joy that Jadice is being blessed and you all are receiving God's best in your marriage. These projects are just stepping stones to his greatness for our marriages!
DeleteJadice sounds like Marcus with that workout plan ready! LOL Continue to keep building him up and I know you all will enjoy week #3.
Kris-this is awesome! When your hubby finishes your workout plan, you are going to be SKINTY! LOL This is so wonderful to read. Are you enjoying those priceless looks on his face?
DeleteLadies, I pray that all is well! I wanted to update you all that due to me being out of town at my parents and busy with my business, I wasn't able to complete two of my projects. However, I'm on the mission to include them in week#3. I was able to complete project #12 on Saturday! Saturday was my craft show and I must say that my husband has been so supportive through out this journey. I went all out my way to let him know that I appreciated EVERYTHING he does...especially that day! He was so happy to help me with setup and ensured that I had everything I needed. He made sure that I didn't have to worry about him and the boys. It touched my heart that he had everything under control and I didn't have to do it! Such a blessing!
ReplyDeleteI pray that we all will continue to allow God to move during our last week of the challenge! We are atmosphere changers (thank you First Lady...Mrs. Regena Williams) and we are the heart of the home. So let's remember to continue to press, even when we don't feel like it! Kathi Lipp states "be the very best version of yourself that you can be - and honor your husband in the process! Love you ladies...
Keep pressing my dear. You've probably completed them....without knowing. ;-)
Delete4/15/13: Hi Ho Hi Ho- This was a small project for me but it ment a lot to Dru. Since we are in an apartment, there's no yard work to do and we already work out together so couldn't do that. So we needed another aquarium stand for our tank and it needed to be put together. Not really great instructions and Dru was having a really hard time with it but usually likes to do things like that by himself. But to his surprise, I got down on the floor and helped him figure it out. He said he really appreciated my help cause he was completely lost :-)!
ReplyDelete4/16/13:Dress to impress- BONUS!!!!! Alright ladies we all know its not always Fredericks of Hollywood or Victoria Secret when its time for bed, but this night I pulled out a nightie that's his favorite color, blue and came got into bed before he did. He slid into bed and came over to cuddle and was like...what's this?!?! Turned on the lamp and had the biggest smile! Let's just say we both slept like a baby!!
4/18/13:Gotcha: Since moving to Indy, we've struggled alot financially, but with strong faith, prayer and family we've made it! The last year things have been moving in the right direction. During the hard times he although he wasn't working, he went to school full time, did odds & ends to make money whatever he could to provide for us. He now has a part time job and is contributing on the regular but still feels less of a man..his words not mine. While we were eating dinner he brought it up again, and I toom his hands and looked in his eyes and just told him how very proud I was of him. He always puts me first and makes sure I'm happy. I love drive to do better and go outside his comfort zone when applying for jobs just to provide. I told him he's never been less of a man to me and that this was all God's test for us. Its made us stronger and our union tighter. We finished dinner quietly and cuddled on the couch the rest of the night.
4/17/13: on my mind- instead of emails anx text. I opted to call just to say I missed him and wanted to hear his voice. His response, everything ok? You need something? I couldn't help but laugh and say no nothings wrong. Gotta work on that.
I love your post " its not always Fredericks of Hollywood or Victoria Secret when its time for bed" this really made me laugh. You better turn those lights back on...I'm tellin' LOL
DeleteI know you mentioned since moving away, you've had some struggles, BUT look how God has truly blessed you and kept you in the midst of it all. Now that's a testimony. ;-) Love ya!
Amen Chantel!! Not a day goes by that we don't praise and thank him for it!!
DeleteGo Maegan! It's fun to do projects with the hubbys...you know they don't like reading instructions! Keep encouraging your husband, God is preparing yall for his best! Continue to sleep like babies! :)'
DeleteProject #8 - So I decided to try the idea of eating outside on our patio. As I said before, my husband loves to be outside and he really enjoys sitting outside on our patio. I decided to setup a little table on our patio and we just sat and shared a piece of chocolate cake and ice cream. He was very surprised and excited AND HE LOVES dessert!!! lol We were able to eat food we love and just talk with no cell phones around.
ReplyDeleteProject #9 - Charles has been really busy with work and he mentioned all week that he needed to change his oil (he normally does this himself) so while he was busy doing work at the house, I took his car and got his oil changed for him. It wasn't major but he appreciated the fact that it was one less thing he had to do for the day!
Project #10 Now I try to look decent for work everyday but after 5:00 and transform into the real Jessica! lol I usually wear the same big baggy pink and black stripped pants that he hates! I decided to change it up and wear one the "outfits" that he loves and he really enjoyed it!
Jessica...i'm glad to see that you are enjoying the challenge! Sometimes it is the small things that mean the most! Wonder will you be willing to give up those baggy pink and black stripped pants during Week#3! :)'
